Is there any way of seeing a dermatologist without a gp referal (uk only please :)?

thanks :)Is there any way of seeing a dermatologist without a gp referal (uk only please :)?
You have to see your GP for referral to the dermatologist on the NHS. I've wondered the same thing before, but found out it was not possible. In the end I went private. Is there any way of seeing a dermatologist without a gp referal (uk only please :)?
I tried to do this and I am insured for medical treatment.I wanted a second appointment with the dermatologist. I was told by the dermatologists secretary that the dermo needed a letter of referral because more than a year had elapsed since my last appointment.

If you are a NHS patient, you haven't got a hope in hell. If however you want to see a demo privately, you could bluff it out. Make an appointment and tell the dermo that your doctor said that he would send a letter of referral. The dermo wants your cash and he will probably examine you.
Yes, of course.

The UK has both a free NHS system that is accessed through your GP and also private medical care that you can choose for yourself. Library, GP office, local pharmacy, Pub might be able to recommend a practitioner, or if there is a local Health Office, ask them,

You pay, you choose!

Give them a ring and ask what is the procedure -can you be self referred.
Yes you can go private..don't forget your credit card..
Normal practice would definitely be to be referred via your GP.
yes if you pay
