i am planning to go for the first time because i have acne scarring. will it be covered by medicare. how much is it for the chemical peel and will they do it on the second appointment.Dermatologist and chemical peel...urgent?
it depends on the dermatologist, usually a visit is a little over $100...
your derm will advise you on which treatment to consider for your
acne scarring, if you are advised on a chemical peel you will probably pay near thousands for the procedure, including after care products.
your dermatologist may not even perform the surgery, but refer
you to a facility that does, where you may have to go in for
consultation first, then once again for the treatment.
make sure you discuss all treatments available as chemical peels
induce long downtime and alot of pain.
the degree of your scarring depends on what you get.
if you have minor scars, seek a non-ablative laser like the
fraxel re:store or the sciton profractional
...just keep in mind that you must find a well-qualified
surgeon and that you keep realistic expectations
and thoroughly follow all instuctions you are given.
best of luck.
