As someone else pointed out a dermatologist is a doctor, a doctor who specializes in the skin. Here in the US the doctor and pharmacy have to be registered and comply with specific regulations before they are able to write/ fill the medication. So although any physician is able to write a script for it, I would find it hard to believe that a 'regular' family doc would go through all the trouble of complying with the regulations. A dermatologist who treats acne and prescribes accutane frequently will be enrolled in the program.





As a side note, I was on Accutane a few years ago and it worked great.Do you go to a DOCTOR or DERMATOLOGIST for Accutane?
If your thinking about getting it, deffo get it. I had severe acne that ruined my life for 4 years and after I took accutane for 4 weeks I seen a massive difference, and after 3 months I came off the medication... that was about 5 years ago and i never had spots again.... it changed my life
Dermatologist. But you'll have to have a blood test every month. It can cause liver damage, and your on that pill for 20 weeks.It does work very well, My son took it his face cleared up beautifully, and no side effects. He had really bad acne.

Honestly, any physician can prescribe any medication, although most will refer you to a dermatologist if you are asking about Accutane.
Yeah, you do but it has awful side effects, if you want to get rid of your acne without the side effects, try taking a b5 vitamin, look it up.
You go to a dermatologist. I work for one and it works really well but there are a lot of side effects.
