Yes, it is very normal for someone with thyroid problems to have their TSH change if they are unmedicated or not on the right dosage. In your case, your TSH would indicate to me that you are hypothyroid (underactive thyroid). Your family doctor should have prescribed you Synthroid, Levoxyl (or similar medication) that same day. I hope he did. To my knowledge, there is no upper limit to how high the TSH can go. I also have hypothyroidism. A few months ago I became very sick after my thyroid %26amp; thyroid medication stopped working for me. My TSH shot up to 328! Three HUNDRED twenty eight. That is very high, and I ended up in the hospital. If you are hypothyroid you NEED to be on medication for the rest of your life. Regular blood tests are essential (like every 6 weeks at first). Hair loss is definitely one of the problems associated with this disease, but fortunately resolves once your levels are regulated with medication. Hope this helps!I went to a dermatologist with hair loss and found out i have hypothyroid my tsh was either .21 or 21?
Brenda, you posted another question about asthmatic bronchitis, steroids and hypothyroidism. The normal range for TSH levels in an adult are 0.35-5.5. These results should be compared with a T4 level to distinguish between pituitary and thyroid dysfunction.
Finasteride works use it.
